Disney+ Will Offer Four Simultaneous Streams At 4K At No Additional Costs

Disney+ will be launching towards the end of the year and while it does have the advantage of playing home to some very well-established franchises, there is no doubt that there will be many comparisons made to existing services such as Netflix. However, it seems that one of the ways Disney+ plans on competing would be price.

For those unfamiliar, Disney+ will be priced at $7 a month or $12.99 if you want a bundle that also includes Hulu and ESPN+. The base price of Disney+ is already cheaper compared to Netflix’s base price of $9, and to top it off, it seems that the default subscription of Disney+ is on par with Netflix’s most expensive streaming option.

According to a report from CNET, Disney+ by default will allow for up to four simultaneous streams at once, meaning that you can watch Disney+ on separate devices at the same time. It will also stream at 4K at no extra cost, which like we said is on par with Netflix’s Premium tier which is more than double the cost at $16.

However, Disney+ could be more expensive in the long run. This is because according to CNET, Disney+ shows are expected to be released on a weekly basis. This means that if you were hoping to binge-watch shows ala Netflix style, you would be out of luck, although this works in Disney’s favor as it would keep you subscribed longer.
