Parallels Working To Bring Windows 11 To Mac

Are you hoping to run Windows 11 on your Mac computer? Unless Microsoft decides to release the ARM version of Windows 11 to consumers, there’s little chance of Mac users seeing Windows 11 on their devices. However, Parallels is hoping that they’ll be able to change this.

The developer has revealed that they are working to bring Windows 11 compatibility to Mac users in a future Parallels update. So why is it that they might be able to do that when Microsoft can’t or won’t? This is because for those unfamiliar, Parallels is a virtualization software which means that it can get around certain limitations compared to trying to get Windows up and running on Mac hardware itself.

There will be, of course, certain disadvantages to using virtualization instead of natively running the software, but it might be good enough for some who might need to use Windows for a few tasks.

Speaking to iMore, Nick Dobrovolskiy, SVP of Engineering and Support said, “Since Windows 11 has just been announced recently, the Parallels Engineering team is waiting for the official Windows 11 Insider Preview build to start studying changes introduced in the new OS to deliver full compatibility in future Parallels Desktop updates.”

It is unclear when we will be seeing this update, but given that Windows 11 isn’t expected to start rolling out until later this year, we suppose there is no immediate rush just yet.
