Amazon Debuts Their Next-Gen Fire TV Cube

If you’re in the market for a new TV box, then you might be interested to learn that Amazon has recently taken the wraps off their latest Fire TV Cube device. While the overall design of the new Fire TV Cube is essentially the same as its predecessor, it’s under the hood where Amazon has made the improvements.

According to Amazon, the new Fire TV Cube will be powered by a hexa-core processor, which Amazon claims will make it twice as powerful as its predecessor. It will offer access to Dolby Vision and 4K UHD content and play them back at 60 fps. Also, as expected of it being an Amazon device, there will be support for Alexa.

This means that users who want to control their Fire TV Cube using their voice will be able to do so. This includes the ability to scroll through content, go home, and make selections. According to Marc Whitten, Vice President of Amazon Fire TV, “Over the past year, we have continued to expand and advance the Fire TV Cube experience based on this feedback with dozens of new features including Multi-Room Music, Follow-Up Mode, and Alexa Communications. These key learnings carried over and guided the development of the second-generation Fire TV Cube, and we are excited to introduce this new-and-improved experience to customers around the world.”

The new Fire TV Cube will be available for purchase on the 10th of October where it will retail for $120.
