B&O Launches The Beosound Stage, The Company’s First Soundbar

While soundbars might not necessarily provide you with the same surround sound effect that you might enjoy from having individual speakers positioned strategically around the room, the upside is that they are incredibly convenient if you don’t have a lot of space and you want something a little more low-profile.

If a new soundbar is something you’re after, you’re in luck because Bang & Olufsen have recently taken the wraps off the Beosound Stage. For a company that has been in the audio business for as long as they have, this is actually B&O’s first ever soundbar, or so they claim because if you recall, there was the Beosound 35 launched several years ago that did look like a soundbar to us.

Putting that aside, the Beosound Stage will come with 11 drivers fitted through its body together with a 50-watt amplifier. There are also woofers built into the speaker that will offer “rich and superbly deep bass”, along with support for Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth, WiFi, Chromecast, and AirPlay 2.

If you’re interested in the Beosound Stage, know that as with all things B&O, it will not come cheap. The speakers are priced at $1,750 for the aluminum and bronze models, but if you wanted a more natural look, the oak version will set you back a whopping $2,600.
