If you’ve ever seen a room tour by a YouTuber, there is a good chance that some of these videos contain a Nanoleaf setup. In case you’re unfamiliar, Nanoleaf is a company that specializes in creating LED wall tiles that can light up individually, thus allowing users to form a variety of patterns and shapes to their liking.
Now it looks like the Nanoleaf wall tiles have found another use, thanks to a deepening partnership with Razer where these interactive wall tiles can double up as game controls. Previously, Nanoleaf and Razer had teamed up where it integrated with Razer’s Synapse IoT platform.
This allowed the wall tiles to light up according to what’s going on in the game, where it can flash a variety of colors as warnings and so on. The idea is to create a more immersive gaming experience. However, now that these tiles can be used as controls, it means that for example if a tile lights up indicating that an item in the game is ready for use, all you need to do is tap it and it will activate.
We’re not sure if this will be more efficient than clicking a mouse or tapping a button on a keyboard, but we suppose the possibilities are endless.
