Samsung had previously confirmed that the Galaxy Fold would be making its return in September. The company stopped short of actually saying when, but now in a new announcement from Samsung, they have confirmed that the Galaxy Fold will be officially released on the 6th of September.
However, before you get too excited and start shelling out money for it, we should note that the September 6 launch is for the South Korean market. We imagine that Samsung will want to eventually release the phone in more markets, but for now, this particular date is only limited to Korea. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for when Samsung announces the phone’s availability in more markets in the future.
The phone that will be launched will be slightly different from the model that was unveiled earlier this year. In case you’re hearing about this for the first time, Samsung had sent the phone out for early reviews. However, during the review process, it was discovered that there were some build issues with the phone that could ultimately lead to it being damaged.
This prompted the company to recall the review units and delayed the launch. Samsung has since improved on the design by reinforcing some of its weak spots, such as the hinge where previously it was noted that dust and debris could get trapped in it which caused issues when trying to fold or unfold the handset.
