Google’s Focus Mode Is Finally Out Of Beta For Android Phones

Google is working on a bunch of tools to enhance the digital wellbeing feature on Android phones.

Focus mode was one of them. To start with, it was only available as a beta feature for testers.

Now, with the recent announcement, Google has decided to bring the feature out of the beta phase while making it available to smartphones running on Android 10 and Android 9 Pie – with digital wellbeing in them.

In case you did not know, Focus mode helps you select a number of apps that usually distract you while you work/study.

So, with the focus mode, you get to choose the distracting apps and pause them right before you get started working.

Until you turn off the focus mode, you will not get notifications from those apps. You can manually do that or else set a schedule for focus mode to kick in and turn off.

In addition to the focus mode, they have also added a feature to “take a break” for a few minutes so that you can pause the focus mode and check your apps for a while before the focus mode resumes.

We are not sure how it works – but if you notice the option for focus mode on your smartphone, it should be easy to follow the onscreen instructions.
