Latest Version Of Opera For Android Gives Any Webpage A Dark Mode

These days, we’re seeing more smartphones and apps introducing dark mode. In case the name wasn’t already familiar, dark mode basically gives an app a dark appearance where it is supposed to be easier to use in low-light situations. It also has the added benefit of being better for battery life, especially with devices that use OLED displays.

However, the downside is that dark mode is generally implemented by the developers themselves. What this means is that if a developer chooses not to support dark mode, then that’s just to bad for the user. The good news is that if you use Opera’s browser for Android, it seems that the company’s browser will be more than happy to help.

With the latest version of Opera for Android, it seems that the browser has the ability to give any webpage a dark mode. This means that even if a website was not necessarily designed for dark mode, Opera will be able to turn it dark. It basically takes a white background and through some CSS changes, turns it black.

We’re not sure if this could break the functionality of some websites in the process, but if you’d rather not blind yourself in the dark, then this could be a useful feature to check out.
