If you own an Apple Watch, did you know that you can actually use the Apple Watch as a secondary display for your phone’s camera? This means that if you’re trying to take a group photo using the back cameras and not the selfie camera, you can use the Apple Watch’s display to frame your shot and trigger the shutter remotely.
It sounds useful, but now it got even more useful thanks to Ulanzi’s somewhat awkwardly named ST-09 Phone Tripod Mount for Apple Watch. As you can see from the photo, this is a mount for the iPhone that lets you place an Apple Watch (sans straps) to the back of it. This means that if you wanted to use the iPhone as a vlogging tool but want to take advantage of the higher-res and better quality rear-mounted cameras, then the Apple Watch will help act as a display to ensure you’re always in frame.
It might seem like a rather novel idea, but the mount also comes with a tripod hole at the bottom so that you can use it to mount your iPhone onto a tripod or a gimbal if you wish. There’s even a cold shoe mount on the top so that you can place other accessories like a microphone or an external flash if you prefer.
If you think that this might be a useful addition to your iPhone photography gear, the mount is priced at $20 and is available via Ulanzi’s website.
