There have been rumors swirling that Samsung might be getting ready to kill off the Galaxy Note series, and it seems that it will take place in 2021. This is according to a recent report from Reuters who claims that their sources have told them that there will not be a new Galaxy Note phone in 2021.
It was previously reported that Samsung will still introduce a new Note phone in 2021, which would be the last in its series, but this report suggests that the timeline has been brought forward. Instead, Samsung is expected to focus on its Galaxy S series and its foldable handsets instead of the Note.
In fact, the report claims that development efforts normally reserved for the Note series has instead been channelled to Samsung’s foldable phones, which means sense as the company seems pretty set on making foldable phones a new thing. The company has declined to comment on the report, so make what you will of it.
The Note series has been around for nearly a decade and it’s sad to see it go, but at the same time, it makes sense as phones these days are getting bigger and apart from the S Pen, the differences between the S-series and Note-series are getting smaller.
