Redesigned 14-inch, 16-inch MacBook Pros Expected In September

We have been hearing rumors that Apple could be working on a redesigned MacBook Pro. The laptops were originally expected to launch at WWDC, or so the rumors claimed, but that did not happen. Now according to a new report from DigiTimes, it seems that the new laptops will probably be announced in September.

The report claims that Apple is working on two MacBook Pros – one will be a 14-inch variant while the other will be the 16-inch model. The 14-inch would represent a brand new size option for the MacBook series, although we have to wonder what this could mean for the 13-inch model since it seems unlikely that Apple will have three different models as the SKUs could get rather complicated.

Of course, none of this can be confirmed yet so for all we know, the 14-inch MacBook Pro rumors could be fake, but we’ll have to wait and see. What’s interesting is the choice for a September launch. Apple usually reserves September for its iPhones, so for them to use September to launch the MacBook Pros as well could draw attention away from the iPhones.

Instead what we had initially expected was that the Mac event could take place towards the end of the year like in 2020 with the M1 Macs, but like we said, we’ll just have to wait for some kind of official confirmation.
