Panasonic’s Toughbook G2 Is A Rugged Tablet For The Workplace

Sometimes at the workplace, it might not be financially feasible to give every employee their own laptop and/or tablet. This means that sometimes certain devices need to be shared amongst the staff, and since it gets passed around a lot, it might not  hold up quite as well over time.

If this is a problem you think your company is facing, then you might be interested to learn that Panasonic has since announced their latest Toughbook tablet in the form of the Toughbook G2. This is a Windows 10 tablet which as you can see in the video above, has been designed to be an extremely rugged device.

With all the bumpers placed around the frame, it looks like this is a tablet that can withstand more than just a drop or two. It is also an alternative to rugged laptops where according to Panasonic, will be ideal in situations where a laptop might be too big or bulky.

As for its specs, the G2 will feature a 10.1-inch display and will be powered by an Intel Core i5 or i7 vPro processor. Panasonic claims that the device is good for up to 18.5 hours of usage, will support up to 32GB of RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, dual SIM, and there are also side-mounted buttons that can be programmed.

There is also an optional keyboard accessory in case you need to sit down and type things out. The Toughbook G2 is priced at $2,999, which is obviously a lot of money, but it is clearly aimed at specific industry professionals who might be able to justify its cost.
